Rose Quartz

Rose quartz is a pale pink variety of quartz whose colour is thought to arise from trace amounts of titanium, iron, or manganese, or from microscopic inclusions of a pink fibrous mineral called dumortierite. Found in large deposits in Brazil, Madagascar, and South Dakota (USA), rose quartz is one of the world's most abundant coloured gemstones and also one of the most universally beloved. Its soft, warm pink and its association with love make it the most gifted crystal in the world.

In ancient Rome, rose quartz was associated with Venus, goddess of love. In ancient Egypt, facial masks of rose quartz were found in tombs, suggesting the stone was used cosmetically and for the preservation of beauty.
